DROWNING SHORE
I am missing
the ocean so much,
the way
the waves come
to tease the shore,
drowning it
for seconds,
and leaving again
just before it
finally forgets
how to breathe.
Here in the middle
of this city,
I found that waves
are sold in bottles
and bought some,
I gulp it down
in seconds
and I slam it back
on the table
just before
I forget to breathe.
Someone has to play
the shore part,
and I volunteered.
